The plan of Gujarat government to build the Charanka Solar Park to produce 500-MW of power with the use of renewable energy source, at Patan District in Gujarat is really a Milestone step of India in developing Renewable Energy Resources. It is now become a necessity to look after the Renewable energy resources as the Conventional energy resources are depleting day by day. This Charanka Solar Park will definitely prove good achievements in electric stability for Gujarat province of India . This 500 megawatts generated at Charanka is to be transmitted to the national electricity grid for which Asian Development Bank's (ADB) is preparing a $100 million loan to fund the proposed transmission line. The waste land will be utilized in beneficiary manner as; this Charanka Solar Park is to be developed in about 2,500 hectare land site out of which 1000-hectare is a waste land. This will be among the largest solar power facilities in the world. It will also be a remarkable step in control of green house gas emission and have clean climate, as to produce 500-MW of power through solar energy will decrease the CO2 emission by 8 lakh million ton and save the bio-fuels like coal and gas.
The Project is to be established by Gujarat Government and the Government will incorporate Private companies to commission their individual production units to produce 500-MW of power. 16 companies have already been allotted plots to generate 176 MW power at the part, and they will commission their respective units in next six months. The commissioning of Charanka Solar Park at Charanka village is just like a grant of a boon for the village as its commissioning will make for urbanization and development of the village. The government is to make infrastructure to provide facilities like water, electricity, roads, rain water drainage, power transmission facility to power producers. The developing initiatives of Government such as to establish projects like solar plant machinery manufacturing, research and development and others will also open good job and study opportunities for young generation of the State.
